  Easily some of the best, if not the best, craft beer coming out of The Philadelphia area. The food is absolutely top notch and they are always offering a versatile range of beer styles and choices at the brewpub. I noticed a lot of comments about "pretentiousness" and unfortunately that is partially true but I wouldn't let it stop you from visiting their place. It is one of my favorite places in Philadelphia. Get 2 paninis, they are all very good. Their pickles, desserts, and charcuterie and cheese selections are amazing.

  My 2 stars come from their customer service and how they treated our party. Nothing to do with the beer or food, which is - of course - great quality.
  
  We were celebrating a wedding and had a small party of 5 people. We were enjoying our beers at the Fermentaria & our best friend arrived late. We ordered some food for him to go (from Tired Hands Fermentaria). We brought the food over to the Brew Cafe, ordered appetizers and some beers, and our friend ate his hamburger (once again, from Tired Hands Fermentaria).
  
  Staff came over to our table and instructed our friend that he could not eat food from outside. We explained that it was from their own establishment right next door, even offering the receipt. They did not care. He was forced to eat his entree outside, in the cold. It was incredibly frustrating for me, I hadn't seen my friend in a few years and this completely soured my experience at the Brew Cafe.
  
  I understand that you have an image to maintain, but sometimes you should take a step back and look at the situation logically. It's completely ridiculous and incredibly poor customer service. I'd completely understand if we brought McDonald's into your establishment, but we brought your own food! Was disappointing.
  
  At least you have good beer.
